I’M writing with a plea for help. Lamontville is collapsing.
Local shops have been neglected to make way for foreign-owned spaza shops which sell expired food; infrastructure is delapidated; the KwaGijima sports ground once nurtured top soccer talent, including players from Lamontville Golden Arrows (founded in 1943), but today it’s overgrown and lacks any infrastructure.
The elderly have to travel longer distances to make withdrawals and for basic needs; gangs control the streets, and our roads look like war zones they are so potholed.
