ACADEMY manager Robin Nicholls has discussed the importance of the FA Youth Cup at Sunderland and the valuable development opportunities it provides.

The club's U18s breezed through in a comfortable 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest to advance to the fourth round of the prestigious competition.

In the 30th minute, Fin Geragusian opened the scoring with a magnificent, truly spectacular strike that became the highlight of the match.

The forward dribbled past several defenders on the right flank and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot straight into the top corner.

For the Armenian youth international, this was his sixth goal of the current season - five scored for the U18 side and one more for the U21 team.
