Pete Davidson, Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer and Eva Longoria discuss their heist comedy The Pickup, with LYNN RUSK

- LYNN RUSK

EDDIE Murphy has been thrilling audiences with his flamboyant comedy style since the early 1980s, rising to fame as a standout cast member on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and later starring in the hit Beverly Hills Cop franchise.

The American actor and comedian went on to headline films like The Nutty Professor, voice the beloved Donkey in the Shrek series, and earn a Golden Globe for his role in the musical drama Dreamgirls.

Now 64, Eddie has teamed up with fellow SNL alumnus Pete Davidson in the upcoming heist comedy The Pickup.

Directed by Tim Story, the action-packed film follows two mismatched armoured truck drivers, Eddie's by-the-book veteran, Russell Pierce, and Pete's reckless rookie, Travis Stolly, who are ambushed during a routine cash pickup by Zoe, a savvy mastermind played by Keke Palmer.

Sit and staycation

THE Cotswolds often sells itself as an upmarket location for romantic mini-breaks, with cosy country pubs, tea rooms, galleries and farmers' markets. As someone who likes to holiday with their canine companion, I wondered if the welcome would be warm for those with wagging tails. Hotels are a no-no for a rescue hound like Riley, with his slightly unpredictable quirks. But a self-catering stay in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold, proved to be the perfect pet-friendly base.
