Vital that Heed keep their belief

ALUN Armstrong has urged out-of-form Gateshead to retain their belief as they look to claim a long overdue win and progress in the FA Trophy by seeing off National League rivals Morecambe at the International Stadium.

Since claiming a shock 2-0 win in an FA Cup first round tie at AFC Wimbledon in November, the Heed have lost their last six games in all competitions, with their latest coming with a second-round defeat against League Two leaders Walsall last Sunday.

However, it is a run of five consecutive league defeats that have caused the biggest issue for Armstrong as his side have slid down the National League table and are currently sitting in the relegation zone.
