Veteran's stolen war medals to be replaced

A WAR veteran is set to receive replacement military medals after the burglary of his house in Sunderland.

The man returned home from a stay in hospital back in August to find that his home had been broken into, and his possessions had been taken.
It was reported to Northumbria Police that the items taken from the property on Chester Road included a selection of the former soldier's war medals and a bank card, with almost £10,000 being withdrawn after the incident.
