Travellers moved on from site in Whitley Bay

MEMBERS of the travelling community who set up caravans near Whitley Bay's Spanish City have been forced to relocate.

A number of caravans were spotted on Monday parked up on council-owned land at the Links.
North Tyneside Council confirmed officials met with the group on Tuesday, informing occupants that the caravans would be removed by legal force if they did not disperse voluntarily. They were also issued with a warning notice.
