Town's mural could be named best in the world

RECENTLY-PAINTED mural in North Shields has been nominated among the best street art in the world.
Nina Valkhoff’s mural “The Chase,” on Norfolk Street, is up for the International Street Art Cities “Best of July” award.
The Chase depicts an underwater chase between two gannets and a cormorant, capturing the drama and beauty beneath the waves where the River Tyne meets the North Sea.
Muralist Valkhoff, from Rotterdam, has been painting murals for more than 23 years and is up against 150 murals from around the world.
