Those resolutions can just wait until the New Year
The Journal
|June 13, 2025
JUNE is the month where we are supposed to recommit to our January resolutions, apparently - according to a very conscientious friend of mine.
I truly feel like this is a good enough reason to end our friendship. And I told her so, immediately.
Who comes up with this absolute poppycock?
Do you even remember what your New Year's Resolutions were?
'Cos I surely don’t.
I assume, statistically, they will have been something like be thinner and richer.
But since, six months in, I remain heavy of pant and light of pocket, we can assume I've failed to keep any such promises to myself.
"But there's still six months to turn it all around!" My (ex) friend proclaimed.
For whom though?
Am I to be audited on December 31?
Made accountable for all actions undertaken-or not-the last 365 days?
Because that sounds like the worst New Year's Eve party ever.
Are we all supposed to be in a state of panic right now because the year only has six months left?
