DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR A FIRST TIME DAD OF TWINS

- RICHARD IRVINE

Nobody says “thank you” when it comes to the unseen work behind healthy and happy children.

This only occurred to me after a week spent as a stay-at-home dad, shackled to the demands of my children, and seeing to the family's every need.

Thankfully, it's a temporary situation and a result of a few days discrepancy between jobs.

Personally, it was a reality check and what I'd like to do is shed a little light on the tireless work. The day starts, and ends with the dishwasher, in a similar way to how I approach dental hygiene.

Once that’s done, it's time to take the weight off and enjoy a coffee, while Victoria metaphorically whips the children into shape.

My approach is more about learning through experience so rather than tell the twins what to do, I explain they will burn without suncream, or wearing shoes makes walking outside much easier.
