INING out should be a pleasurable experience, especially in the summer when patios are open, the sun is shining, and social calendars are busy. But that doesn’t mean your healthy habits have to fall apart with every meal.
Many people tell me how challenging it can be to find healthy options when eating out. My response is usually along the lines of ‘but you found something healthy in the end:
It can be tough sometimes and, yes, you might go slightly off track here and there. But if you're determined to stay focused and still enjoy the experience, here are a few summer friendly tips to help you make smarter choices.
Smart Summer Dining Tips
IE Choose the restaurant wisely. Look up the menu online beforehand and opt for places that offer fresh, seasonal ingredients. Many summer menus feature grilled fish, vibrant salads, or chilled vegetable soups, go for those lighter options.
l§ Skip the bread basket. On hot days, filling up on empty carbs like white bread is not only unnecessary but can leave you feeling bloated. You could ask for it to be removed from the table to avoid temptation.
