BRUNO Fernandes missed a penalty as Manchester United were denied a first win of the Premier League season in a 1-1 draw at Fulham.

Spot of bother as Red Devils denied first win

Fernandes skied a first-half spot-kick over the crossbar after Mason Mount had been thrown to the ground at a corner by Calvin Bassey.

United started well with Matheus Cunha striking a post and then foiled by Bernd Leno after brilliantly bringing down Altay Bayndir’s goal kick.

But Ruben Amorim’s side were struggling for fluency before Leny Yoro’s header deflected in off the back of Rodrigo Muniz for an unfortunate 58th-minute own goal.

Fulham levelled 17 minutes from time when substitute Emile Smith Rowe scored with his first touch, tucking home Alex Iwobi’s cross at the near post after United substitute Diogo Dalot had lost possession.
