Shared tip access needs negotiation

NORTH Tyneside Conservatives are calling for formal negotiations with Newcastle Council leadership for shared access to a recycling centre.

The North Tyneside Tory opposition has approached Newcastle City Council’s Labour leader, Coun Karen Kilgour, in a bid to open negotiations over shared access to Brunswick tip.

The move comes despite North Tyneside Council's previous unsuccessful attempts to come to an agreement with its neighbouring authority over the previous five years.

Council leaders have also come under fire over plans to spend £100,000 on a feasibility study for a potential new tip in Killingworth.
