PRIDE SHONE THROUGH THE RAIN

Northern Price celebrations in Newcastle yesterday saw drier conditions after the rain poured down on Saturday.

The wet weather failed to deter people from turning up to take part in a huge city centre parade that kick-started the weekend-long party.

Northern Pride took place in the city centre following a switch from its usual home on the Town Moor 12 months ago.

The event made a home for itself in several prominent locations around the centre, with a Market Village at Monument, the Family & Youth Zone at the Theatre Royal, Trans+ Zone at Alphabetti and Curious Arts Stage at Northern Stage.
