Police officers in Washington are set to move to the town's community fire station, after earlier this year confirming plans to sell the Washington Police Station.This is due to the ageing police building no longer being fit for purpose and requiring significant investment, which would not offer value for police money. However, committed to maintaining a presence within the town, the force looked for alternative opportunities to co-locate within the area.
