NORTHUMBRIA Police still don’t know the motive behind the Sycamore Gap felling, the detective who led the case says.
Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Fenney and Detective Inspector Callum Meikle spoke to BBC Radio 4's Today programme ahead of the two-part The Sycamore Gap Mystery documentary airing on Channel 4 tonight and tomorrow.
Daniel Graham, now 40; and Adam Carruthers, 33, were found guilty of felling the Northumberland landmark in June, and jailed for four years and three months in July. However, they maintained their innocence in court, and never offered any explanation to why they committed a crime which would shock the nation.
