Police charge man after bomb team called out

A MAN has been charged with making or possessing an explosive and a drugs offence after an incident that saw army bomb disposal experts descend on Gateshead.

An extensive police cordon had been put in place in Macadam Street, Gateshead, following a police raid on Friday lunchtime.
Ezra Lynch, 43, of Macadam Street, was due to appear at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court yesterday.
