MORE than 100 jobs are to be created in Newcastle by the opening of a new office for payments tech business Modern World Business Solutions.

- TOM KEIGHLEY Business writer tom.keighley@reachplc.com

The Cambridgeshire-based firm says it is “laying foundations” for its growth with the launch of the Byker premises. It expects to hire more than 100 people to roles in sales, customer service and technical support this year. And by the end of 2027 it plans to have more than 200 employed at the Hoults Yard base.

Warren Whitfield, CEO and founder of Modern World Business Solutions, said: “We're not just opening an office; we're laying foundations for something much bigger.

“Newcastle has the energy, talent, and innovation we're looking for, and this move helps us build a world-class team that can drive our next phase of growth.

“The North East has always been known for its strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit, and we've seen that first hand in the quality of candidates we've been meeting. This isn’t just about us expanding, it’s about creating meaningful career opportunities in a region that deserves significant investment.

“Our growth trajectory over the past three years has been exceptional, with revenue increasing by over 500% since 2022. But sustainable growth requires the right people in the right environment, and Newcastle gives us both.
