URGENT repairs are continuing on the A1 in Northumberland, with National Highways announcing overnight closures.

An area of the region's busiest road near Alnwick is in need of the repairs due to issues caused by ‘recent poor weather’

One lane of the Al near Alnwick is closed at this time, and a temporary 40pmh limit is in place for traffic in the area.

‘the repairs, which began overnight yesterday are set to continue until tomorrow.
