Optician offers free eye care for homeless

A BRANCH of Specsavers is to give free eye tests and glasses to people experiencing homelessness.

A team of colleagues from the store, on Woodhorn Road, Ashington, are to hold an eye care clinic that will offer people in need of a sight test, OCT scan and glasses help, outside of business hours on Friday. The clinic - organised to coincide with World Homeless Day - will be from 5pm to 7pm.

It will offer people experiencing homelessness a quieter environment to speak to a healthcare professional.

Specsavers Ashington are partnering with Changing Lives and inviting those affected by any form of homelessness to pop into the special clinic.
