DECEMBER has arrived, and with it the inevitable parenting divide.

One Christmas tradition that will never be shelved

Those who Elf on the Shelf, and those who do not.

The “do not’s” are very vocal, denouncing it as a waste of time, money and effort. Blaming said Elf (and, presumably his Shelf) for ruining proper Christmas Traditions. Accusing the “do” parents of taking part purely for 24 days worth of smug social media content.

Not gonna lie. I’m a doer.

When it comes to Christmas Elf joy, truly my shelf runneth over.

Because it honestly doesn’t take very much time, effort or cash, at all.

My children’s expectations are very low.

As long as they are in a slightly different position from the day before and have definitely left the house to go back to the North Pole and inform the Big Man how well they have behaved during school hours then nothing else is really required.

Move them from room to room.

Put one elf upside down, and one facing the right way.

Let them bring back a treat or two with them as the week progresses.
