'Obsessed' man jailed for threatening to kill MP dies in prison

A COUNTY Durham MP has expressed his sadness after the death in prison of a man who had threatened to kill him.

Benjamin Clarke, 32, had become obsessed with his local MP - Bishop Auckland’s Labour representative Sam Rushworth.
In May this year Clarke was jailed for making repeated threats to kill him. He died in Holme House Prison in Stockton earlier this week.
Now Mr Rushworth has expressed his sadness at the news, explaining he had hoped to play a role in Clarke's rehabilitation, In a statement, he said: “I am very sad to hear about Benjamin's death.
