Man in 50s arrested after armed police called out

A MAN in his 50s has been arrested following an incident which saw armed police called to Rothbury on Tuesday evening. Northumbria Police confirmed the man had been detained - on suspicion of causing harassment with a fear of violence.

The incident took place in Thomas Rogerson Mews in the Northumberland town. The police said it had been reported that “a group of men” were trying to enter a property in the area.
