Man held on suspicion of stealing cigarettes

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of burglary after "a quantity of cigarettes" were allegedly stolen from behind the counter of a Northumberland shop.

The Coop in Wylam was cordoned off and closed for several hours after police were called to the store on Main Street at about 9.15am yesterday.
