King's honour for Greggs boss

LEADING figures from the North East business community have been included in the King’s Birthday Honours list.

Greggs CEO Roisin Currie has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to hospitality.
Ms Currie became the chief executive of Greggs in 2022, having joined the Newcastlebased bakery chain 12 years prior.
Under her leadership, Greggs has been growing rapidly across the UK and has set its sights on exceeding 3,000 shops, as well as continuing its community work that now sees it supporting more than 1,000 Greggs breakfast clubs.
