NEWCASTLE United winger Anthony Gordon is one of the best wingers in the Premier League and his performances on Tyneside have laughed in the face of anyone who thinks Everton got a ‘steal’ when they sold him for £40m two and a half years ago.

Gordon has last laugh - Townsend

Anthony Gordon

That is the view of former Magpies winger Andros Townsend, who played alongside Gordon at Everton prior to his move to Tyneside.

When Townsend made the move to Goodison Park, Gordon was a young player making his way into the first team after impressing at youth level.

Townsend was working on the radio for Newcastle's 3-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League, where Gordon scored and was named Player of the Match.
