Famous faces head to Baltic gallery for Sting event

FAMOUS names from the worlds of showbiz and business turned out at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead to back the launch of the new £10m Baltic Endowment Fund, where Sting led the event with an intimate performance.
The Wallsend-born star himself - it was announced in June - has made a "major" donation as part of launching the new fund.
The idea is to safeguard the cultural venue's future on the Gateshead bank of the Tyne for years to come. Cultural figures including Jim Moir - better known as Vic Reeves - and wife Nancy Sorrell took to the red carpet on Thursday evening - as did North East natives Jimmy Nail, businessman Graham Wylie and the region's Mayor - Kim McGuinness.
