Electric bike hit and run puts woman in hospital

A WOMAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a hit-and-run collision with an electric motorcycle in Newcastle.

At around 4.50pm on Saturday, police were alerted to an injured pedestrian on Beaumont Terrace in Westerhope. Police say it is understood she had been struck by a vehicle and that the driver involved had left the scene.
