Biro artist Cy Baker on how nature inspires his work

- DAISY FOX Family Time Correspondent

DRAWN TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS

BEING outside can help us feel more alive, and a great way to connect with nature is to create a journal.

Here, Cy Baker tells us about how the natural world has inspired his amazing biro art.

What's your experience of journalling and why is it important to you?

You could easily say that I’ve been journalling the natural world my whole life. In fact, some of my earliest memories are of trying to capture the natural world in art.

Obviously my methods have changed, but the principle is the same.

First and foremost, it's about being out in nature, observing and interacting with it.

That on its own is like the purest chilled water to the hot and thirsty. It instantly refreshes you and is essential. My life would be a shrivelled husk if I wasn’t able to get out in nature and produce art from my experiences.
