Charity founder receives honour from an ITV star

A NORTH Shields woman has been recognised with a prestigious award by TV's Lorraine Kelly herself.
Charity founder and campaigner Sarah Harrison was surprised live on the ITV show Lorraine last week with news that she had won the “trailblazer of the year” award at the Women of the Year awards.
Sarah, who has incurable cancer, founded the Sarah's Star charity in 2019 when she was given the news that her cancer had not just returned but had spread.
The Tyneside mum got the devastating news when she was supposed to be heading to hospital for reconstructive surgery, thinking that she had come through the other side of a breast cancer ordeal. However, that was not to be the case. But Sarah used that news to inspire the founding of the charity and was last week surprised with the news of her award live on TV.
