FOLLOWING fierce competition at this year's Northumberland County Show, a Charolais heifer claimed the prestigious Champion of Champions title. Over twenty thousand visitors attended the much-loved annual event in Bywell on Saturday, immersing themselves in agriculture, farming and food.

And while there are many titles to be won throughout the day the highlight of the show is the JS Hubbuck Grand Parade of Champions which brings together the best animals of every section.

This amazing line-up of different breeds and species are carefully compared and assessed by the judges, who this year were Ian and Ann Hamilton of Claywalls Farm in Capheaton, Northumberland.

It was smiles all round for Cumbria-based Thor Atkinson's team, as they scooped the JS Hubbuck Champion of Champions Trophy. Their superb Charolais heifer, Goldstar Unestar, took the title of Interbreed Champion earlier in the day to gain their place in the line-up.
