Bus stop rebuilt using trees that crushed original

A NORTHUMBERLAND bus stop has been recreated using wood from trees which crushed the original during Storm Arwen.

Storm Arwen left a trail of destruction in its wake as winds of 98mph buffeted the North East. Northumberland was hit particularly hard, with the council declaring a major incidents as thousands were left without power more than a week after the storm hit on November 27, 2021.

In the hamlet of Middleton, near Belford, the local bus stop was “smashed to pieces” by falling trees.
