Blast slimmed down in revamp for white-ball competitions

THE Vitality Blast’s group stage in the men's competitions will be reduced from 14 to 12 next season, with Finals Day to be held in July before the start of The Hundred.

The changes, which will also see the competition revert to three groups of six counties, were agreed by the Professional County Cricket Clubs (PCCs) following the recommendations of the Domestic Playing Programme (DPP) review.
Professional Game Committee chair Mark McCafferty said a “much-loved domestic T20 competition” was known for its intense local rivalries and that the changes “will be a springboard to further investment".
