Appeal as motorcyclist, 80, is killed in collision

AN 80-year-old motorcyclist died after being involved in a collision in Northumberland.

Police are appealing for information following the fatal crash, which happened near Bellingham on Sunday.

At around 4pm, police received a report of a single-vehicle collision on the B6230 Houxty Bank.

It was reported that a Bluroc motorcycle was travelling south on the B6320 when it came off the road. Emergency services attended, and the rider - a man in his 80s - was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he died.
