By contrast, Spurs went strong - perhaps by necessity given they had 10 injuries to contend with - in what was a huge test of Newcastle's fringe men. It was a test they ultimately passed as a number of players rose to the challenge. Schar scored, Aaron Ramsdale was brilliant and others stood out too.
