Relay team win heat before rain delays final

Sri Lanka men's 4x400 metres relay team were set to fight for a medal after reaching the final with the third best time in the two heats while Rasara Wijesuriya established a new Sri Lanka record in the women's 10,000 metres on the third day of the Asian Athletics Championship in Gumi, South Korea on Thursday.
Sri Lanka men's and women's 4x400 metres relay teams were set to compete in the finals when this edition went to press.
Several events on the third day were rescheduled due to heavy rain. Team officials in Gumi said the relay teams had already warmed up for the final before heavy rain forced organisers to reschedule the event.
