Defence Secretary AVM (Rtd) Sampath Thuyakontha has directed relevant authorities to collect information regarding ex-military personnel involved in Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The following is the text of statement issued by the Defence Ministry yesterday (2): "A special discussion to resolve issues related to the pensions of retired war veterans and the payment of Widows and Orphans Pension (W&OP) to families of fallen war heroes was held on May 30 at the Ministry of Defence under the patronage of AVM Thuyacontha."
