This year's Sinhala and Tamil New Year was celebrated on a grand scale, and there was something happening practically in every part of the country, and abroad, as well

The Mount Lavinia Hotel, always the spotlight when it comes to big time celebrations, launched its "Avurudu Maha Gedara 2025" in spectacular fashion, on 6th April.
The hotel's traditional Kavili Kadé (sweetmeat shop) was in operation till Sunday, 13th April.
The grand opening, on 6th April, featured a rich tapestry of cultural performances, including Sinhala and Tamil traditional dancing, singing, fireworks, traditional drum performances, and flower-decorated swings, creating an authentic village atmosphere.
