|May 12, 2025
Telugu actor Allu Arjun has earned a staggering sum of INR3 billion for appearing in Pushpa 2: The Rule, the blockbuster which globally grossed INR17.86 billion in 2024, according to a report in Forbes India magazine.
This makes Arjun the highest-paid star in the 112-year history of cinema in India.
His remuneration surpasses previous records held by other top Indian actors, including Tamil star Thalapathy Vijay and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Prior to Allu Arjun's record-breaking deal, Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay held the title of highest-paid Indian actor, commanding INR2.75 billion for his final film Thalapathy 69. This film is particularly significant as it marks Vijay's transition from cinema to politics.
Vijay is the second highest paid actor from India. Vijay reportedly charged INR1.3 billion to INR2.75 billion for Jana Nayagan. His previous film, Leo, was the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023 while GOAT became the highest Tamil grosser of 2024.
