Adani Group stocks plummet up to 48% in FY25 so far. INR 3.4 trillion in market cap wiped out
The Island
|March 25, 2025
The combined market capitalisation of Adani Group stocks has plunged INR 3.4 trillion, in FY25 YoY, experiencing a turbulent year as investors turned cautious amid broader market volatility and regulatory concerns.
The Economic Times reported today that shares of Adani Green Energy have been the hardest hit, with nearly half of their market capitalisation wiped out this year, followed by Adani Enterprises.
As of Friday, March 21, the total market capitalisation of Adani Green Energy stood at INR 1.46 trillion, down from INR 2.90 trillion on March 28, 2024, the last trading day of FY24.
The stock has been in the news due to an alleged $265-million bribery scheme in which Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani, and others are accused, with the company being seen as a direct beneficiary.
The group's flagship company, Adani Enterprises, whose share price is down 27% this year, has seen the second-largest market capitalisation erosion of INR 940.96 billion.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has also witnessed a decline, with its market capitalisation receding by INR 330.29 billion, or 11.40%, during the same period.
Adani Group's market capitalisation dropped by 21% in FY25, largely due to perceived market volatility and regulatory challenges.
