Ron Graham got into difficulty with debt

A pensioner who considered committing suicide is urging people in debt difficulties to follow his lead and seek help from the charity which helped save his life.
Debt help charity Christians Against Poverty (CAP) in Irvine offer free debt advice to local people, and CAP Debt Coach, Alan McLaren, said the strain of poverty is becoming unbearable, with some people so overwhelmed by debt that they even contemplate taking their own lives.
Irvine man Ron Graham (68) knows first hand how spiralling debts can have a devastating effect on mental health.
Ron said: “Living in debt was unbearable and I felt so down and isolated.
