Footballer Antonio 'stable' after serious car accident

West Ham forward Michail Antonio is in a stable condition after being involved in a serious car accident, his club confirmed.
The Hammers shared a statement on social media but did not reveal any additional details surrounding the incident in Epping, Essex, yesterday afternoon. West Ham's post arrived after images circulated on social media of a smashed Ferrari, though there was no confirmation that the vehicle was Antonio’s.
A club statement read yesterday: “West Ham United can confirm striker Michail Antonio has today been involved in a road traffic accident. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Michail, his family and friends at this time.
“West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition. Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital. At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family.”
