RESIDENTS have slammed the “disgusting heinous” stabbing carried out on a street in broad daylight.

Residents horrified at fatal stabbing in street

A man was stabbed to death on Cardigan Road, in Headingley, Leeds, near the roundabout to Victoria Road, shortly before 4.30pm yesterday. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Paramedics rushed to the area but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. West Yorkshire Police have cordoned off the street while they investigate.

The force have described the stabbing as a “sustained violent attack”.

The man who died has not yet been formally identified. A number of witnesses have come forward.
