Plans take shape to regenerate local village

“EXCITING” regeneration plans for Marsden are building momentum as a new blueprint takes shape.

Kirklees Council has introduced blueprints across Kirklees with the aim of making its towns and villages great places to live, work and visit.

The Marsden Blueprint aims to strengthen communities, improve public spaces, protect heritage, boost the local economy, provide affordable housing and promote sustainability.

Last year, the council began working with the community to develop plans for investment in Marsden over the next decade and beyond. Now, a masterplan will be presented and reviewed at next week’s Cabinet meeting.

If members give their approval, it will launch a long-term programme, using the masterplan as the foundation for ongoing engagement, project development, and future investment.
