Men who attacked home in love rival row sentenced

THREE men who attacked a family home and put a school into lockdown following a bitter love rival row have been sentenced.

Luke Boocock, 25, had fought with his rival earlier on November 24, 2022, Leeds Crown Court heard on Friday, but the pair agreed to have another fight “one-on-one”.

However Boocock turned up with his brother Lewis, 27 and Grant Bower, as well as others, armed with weapons and attacked the house. A nearby school had to be put in lockdown after a staff member told of seeing “men with knives” in Field Head Parade, Recorder McKone said.

During the violence, Bower drove his Transit van at the victim's house, nearly running over a pedestrian and the family dog as he did so.

Judge McKone told the court: “This is a very serious public order offence. Violence by each of you encouraged violence by the others.”
