PLYMOUTH'S Laureate of Words is preparing for a busy month with workshops, live performance, a radio show - and you can be involved.

WORKSHOPS, RADIO, AND LIVE PERFORMANCES

Richard Thoman, who writes as RC Thomas, is appearing at the Plymouth Literary Festival, hosting his Laureate of Words Show on Plymouth's FCR radio station and teaching the art of the Japanese poetry style haiku.

Plymouth writers, of whatever standard or experience, can submit work to his radio show, join the haiku workshop and see their work in an installation across the city, and he's also been working with businesses and the community in Stoke Village.

Richard, who took over as city laureate in the autumn, said his two-year term had gone well so far and activities are now ramping up.

He said: "It's going OK, a lot of meetings and planning and now I'm waiting for February and everything to kick off."

On Saturday, February 14, Richard will be part of the Plymouth Laureate of Words: the Class of 2025-27 event at the University of Plymouth's Portland Square Building.
