SIMON Stevenson (26.37) put up a 16-darter in a 3-0 win that came in a 10-1 Plymouth City Super League Division A win for Legends Lounge B.

- By JAMES COOK

Stevenson also found scores of a ton or more on 17 occasions across the contest, and was well supported by teammate Mark Turner. Turner found ten tons, including the only maximum, whilst Dan Maddocks showed sharpshooting at the business end with checkouts of 88 and 96.

All six of the Octagon ‘All Star’ team ended their 9-2 win at Legends Lounge A with at least double figures in tons, Lee Hellings being the most prominent of which with 18. Sean Taylor was next best with 12 scores of a ton or more, whilst both Alfie Ford and Andy Bates added 11 ton-plusses.

Neil White and John Mann both netted a respectable ten tons to complete the sextet as both Mann and White bagged solitary maximums on their way to their respective totals. Taylor also added a solitary three-treble visit to Hellings’ brace, whilst the only noteworthy contribution for the defeated team came in the form of a maxi from Del Bryce.

Ford, Bates, and Mann (30.33) put together a 33-dart 1001 leg in the very first trebles game before Bates and Mann carried on where they left off in the pairs. Over the 601 distance, Mann and Bates (26.13) found legs in 22 and 24 darts, but those brilliant showings were usurped in the final doubles game.

White and Taylor (32.49) put on 17 and 20 dart legs in their 2-0 win, whilst the avalanche of excellent play continued into the singles phase. Hellings’ leg in 16 darts proved crucial in deciding his 3-2 win before Mann rounded off his evening with a 3-0 success that contained a leg in 18 darts.

Bates matched Mann's 18-darter and added another in 15 during another 3-0 victory before White succeeded by a 3-0 scoreline, thanks in part to a 15-darter. Despite a 115 checkout and a 15-dart leg from Ford, the onslaught finally subsided as Ford fell 3-2 to Ryan Harris in the final singles rubber.
