School gets praise from inspectors

A PLYMOUTH primary school has been praised by Ofsted for its calm atmosphere, high expectations and strong support for pupils.
Victoria Road Primary in St Budeaux, which currently has 186 pupils aged two to 11, was found to be providing a good quality of education across all key areas, including early years, behaviour, personal development, and leadership.
The inspection, which took place in January, follows a previous 'Good' rating and confirms that the school continues to provide a high standard of education. Led by headteacher Cheryl Brake, who took up her post in September 2024, the school is part of The Learning Academies Trust.
"Victoria Road Primary is calm and purposeful," the report states. "Pupils focus on their learning without distraction. Expectations are high for behaviour and for pupils' achievement."
