CITY centre neighbourhood police have said they are taking a range of actions after a reported increase in antisocial behaviour involving groups of teenagers across Plymouth.

In a community message to residents, neighbourhood police working out of Charles Cross police station highlighted the issue, which stated officers had seen a “noticeable increase” in reports of antisocial behaviour in the city centre in recent weeks, particularly in the evenings.

They explained that “this has included disruptive behaviour, intimidation of members of the public, damage to property, and misuse of public spaces, which is affecting residents, businesses, and visitors alike.”

They added: “We're asking parents and guardians to please be aware of where your children are, who they are spending time with, and how they are behaving when out in the city centre - particularly during evenings and weekends.

“A reminder from home about respecting others, local businesses, and public areas can make a real difference.”
