Objections as pub boss issues plea to relax conditions

COUNCILLORS have been asked to relax a raft of conditions attached to a Plymouth pub’s premises licence, despite complaints over noise which is keeping neighbours awake.

New landlord of The Plymstock Inn, Jack Fry, wants to keep the children’s play area open until 9pm instead of 7pm and scrap the need for a noise limiting device, which would activate when live or recorded music rose above agreed levels.

He says that the 13 “difficult licensing” conditions imposed in 2017 when the pub underwent a premises licence review because of noise complaints are hampering the success of the business.
