WITH a free week in the fixtures of the Head Plymouth and District Summer League there were only a few rearranged matches taking place.
In Mens Division 2 Gary Brooks and Jay Stuart of Plympton A won both their events when they played Tavistock B. Nick Haley and John O'Gorman, also for Plympton, were taken to three by both Tavistock pairs, but both times lost the Championship tie breaks. Plympton won 56-39.
In Division 3 Yelverton A played Plympton B. With the first pairs from both sides winning, it was always going to be a close match and in the end Plympton B won 53-42.
In Division 4 there was a super match between Devonshire B and Plymstock A with many games going the full distance. The consistency of Plymstock's Tim Randall and Dave Bate was decisive and made them the only undefeated partnership on the night. With Plymstock A winning 51-44 it was Devonshire B's first defeat of the season. Plymstock continue their good form and remain unbeaten.
In Ladies Division 3 between Menheniot A and Looe A all enjoyed the lovely evening. Menheniot won 72-21.
THE P & D KNOCKOUT CUP
May saw the start of the P&D Knockout Cup. In a preliminary round match Yelverton beat Menheniot 4-0, but then were beaten by Hill Lane 3-1 in the first round proper.
